Desmond Tutu hands over the IJR Award to Symphonia

Last week I received a call from Symphonia (they are one of my earliest clients) and asked me, if I would be available to photograph at year’s Institute for Justice and Reconicilation’s  Awards evening. Louise van Rhyn received the award for her work of Partners for Possibility. In short Partners for Possibility links headmasters of schools with business leaders to partner and improve on what the schools can achieve for the learners. Here is a link to a video, which explains the concept.

What made the evening very special were two things. The event was held at Steenberg High School, one of the schools in the program. The principal Andre Kraak gave an inspiring testimony on how Partners for Possibility brought positive change to his school.

Then there was the former Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who handed over the prize to Louise. He did it with style and humour as only he can do it. I enjoyed seeing his energy and spark in his short speech.

Here are a few pictures from the award evening.
